Where is the school?

What grades do you cover?
From 3 year old Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.
At what age can children start at Moerlina School?
Children can start at Moerlina at the age of 3 in our Pre-Kindy class. They can start throughout the year as soon as they turn 3.
In Western Australia primary school runs from Pre-primary to Year 6.
Pre-Primary is the first year of compulsory schooling and is for children turning five years old by 30 June of the year they start Pre-Primary.
What is your philosophy?
That’s very hard to answer. We are not a Steiner or Montessori school. We teach the Australian Curriculum, but we do so in a creative way that takes care of the whole child, their academic as well as social and emotional needs. We have many excursions and incursions, linked to the curriculum, to make the learning real and engaging. We love Science and hands-on learning. We teach in small multi-age groups. The natural world and sustainability are close to our heart. We are a community school, and active and purposeful parental involvement significantly strengthens our school community, supports the school’s academic programs and consolidates the teacher-student-parent partnerships.
